all the monsters were stirring, even the clowns;
the candies were poured into a bucket with fear,
in hopes that the Mummies soon wouldn't be near;
the children laid wide-eyed all scared in their beds,
while visions of Werewolves growled in their heads;
and Ma with her bat and I a wooden stake,
had just settled our minds for a long restless break,
when out on the lawn there arose such a racket,
I sprang from my bed to grab my jacket;
away to the stairs I flew like a bird,
tore open the door and saw what I heard,
a group of creatures were what made the clatter,
Swashbucklers, Vampires, and Aliens were the matter;
there was Frankenstein, Medusa, and Satan standing there,
not to forget the many Ogres, Wolves, and Bears;
the witches swooped over and grabbed my hood,
then dragged me over, into the tall dark woods;
cackling confidently their flight,
“Happy Halloween to all, and to all a fearful night!”
