I blur the lines between make-believe and reality with alarming sincerity.
I am an actress;
Enamoured with embodying a psyche other than my own, yet too afraid to make a sound.
I am a pacifist-
Yet I will fight for my right to peace.
I am a woman:
And only I decide what that means to me.
I am a friend,
And a daughter,
And I will do anything and everything for those I love.
I am a poet,
Spelling out mysteries, chasing elusive rhythms
I am a reader,
Eyes devour text, drink it up like pure, cool, silver water
Collected under a beaming full moon.
I am a novelist,
Hands twitch, mind whirs, spelling out volumes.
I am just a shy, socially anxious, cynical girl,
But I know in my mind that I must change the world.
I am a voice for those who suffer.
I may not speak, but my mind, like the great river, surges with the power of words,
The understanding of the ages.
I will be a published author,
A poet,
I will give others the solace I seek;
The worlds of text to hide in,
The fiery courage that tells them,
Yes, it will be okay.
Everything will be fine.
I am a flame, bright and burning,
I am deep waters,
I am grounded and nurtured by the earth, yet my spirit
Flies far, far above, one with the wind and the sunshine and the sky,
Unfettered,
Rising,
Free!
I am the dreamer of dreams.
