Dear Reader,
Orange rocks glisten
in the horizon
bright arches tower
and gleam.
a pastel sky within
watches, cloudy.
the stones reach
high
in a spire,
touching the bright
sky.
from the passive lour,
a call rings,
nigh.
a rumble awakens
deep -
a quaking power.
forgetting peace the clouds
weep,
finding tears beneath.
Now, the ground
reaps.
The crops find their gatherer
as the rocks
fall
into the sandy basket
beneath, cracking,
mauled
by the deceit
of nature.
their broken pieces
left to ruin,
unmended
unfixable,
untouched.
the once looming
power,
now, a reject,
waiting for a help
that will not come,
a bandage not yet invented,
a fix for an unfixable wound.
Dark blue is painted
on the horizon,
stars gleam across
a now destered terrace.
And the moon reflects
across the reaping basket
where shattered hopes
lie.
The starlight paints
four lone words
on the ground,
fading through the
dawn's beginning.
their meaning engraved
forever.
HERE LIES BROKEN DREAMS
Sincerely,
A Once Believer
