Every holiday or birthday I find common struggles of buying a gift for someone. I want the gift to be useful and personal- mean something special or remind the person of a memory- so I opt out of gift cards sometimes. I like to make cards personal too or even sometimes I like to find cards that are compostable or recycled paper or that donate some of their profit to charities. Also, if you already have a gift, you can be eco friendly and use reusable/recyclable wrapping paper like grocery bags, cotton blankets, paper grocery bags, patterned cloth, compostable wrapping paper, or even wrap the present in a blanket that you can give to them! Well here are some ecofriendly gift ideas:
- Buy zero waste items from https://packagefreeshop.com/
- Make them something from nature- plenty of diys on youtube(I made my friends lip balm)
- Plants
- Fresh fruits and veggies in a reusable tote bag
- cotton cloths- you can never have too many
- a compost kit!
- solar powered objects like outdoor lights
- reusable water bottles or containers
- gifts from sustainable farmers
- buy them a month free of 100% renewable energy
- Buy them a donation to a sustainability company like WWF, Green peace, package free shop, Bill and Melinda gates foundation, Patagonia, etc.
