Along the path of enlightenment
Looking for something-
But I didn’t know what.
Golden summer sun shone,
Wind frolicked in the
cloudless azure dome,
Waves of gold swayed,
A warm breeze
Ruffled my hair.
Looking for something -
Not knowing what…..
But I was sure I would find it
On the road…..
Wind blew into a gale
The rain of difference thundered down,
Meaning to crush me under the weight
Of fitting in.
I learned
To survive -
Even
To dance through the storm, resilient
And proud.
I knew
I could make it through
I would live
And I would find -
What I was looking for…….
Whatever that was
Now -
The droplets have dissipated, and I miss them
For the sun will not shine
And my soul mimics the cloudy-gray sky.
Wet sheets of water
Puddle from my downcast head,
My weary eyes
Because I am still going.
If I could
I would turn back
But
I cannot
I am the wanderer…..
Cast onto the path
Searching through my soul
For something
I fear
I will never find……
