As 2017 slipped by us and we now dawn on the 2018th year of the A.D. time period, I look back on myself and think, "how could I improve?" And so I pondered upon this question until an answer popped in my cranium. The true answer to this question is that you can always improve in every aspect of your life. This year, I challenge everyone seeing this as well as myself to strive for the best you as if it's the last year of the universe itself. Together, we can work to make ourselves better people, resulting in a happier earth for everyone!
Philly's own Eagles lost their franchise QB on sunday due to an ACL tear late in the game while he dove into the end zone where the TD was negated by penalty. Wentz will miss the rest of this season, and if everything goes as planned, it is rumored he will be ready to come back by the beginning of the 2018 season. This is not the end for the Eagles yet, however, a their backup Nick Foles is receiving the starting position. Foles has shown that he can be a star in his past years when he set the NFL record for passing touchdowns at 7, as well as carried the Eagles to the playoffs before.
The red hot Eagles came into the game hoping to defeat the Seattle Seahawks and solidify their spot at the top of their respective conference, the NFC. The Seahawks, however, surprised the young Eagles and hit them by storm in the first half, being the first team the entire season to score a TD in the first quarter against them. The Seahawks' defense also startled the Eagles, holding superstar QB Carson Wentz to just one TD. In the End, the Seahawks won, 10-24.
Despite a tough loss to the Celtics shortly before, the Sixers ended up pulling out with the win against the Detroit Pistons and Andre Drummond. Philadelphia had a tough start, quickly going down by as many as 9 in the first quarter, but soon showed us their true colors as they absolutely balled out to take a commanding lead of 18. The Pistons weren't about to let the game go so soon, however, as they significantly brought the lead down in the 3rd period and even took a small lead for a short period of time in the 4th. Their strong efforts were no match for Philly in the final few minutes of the game, though, as the Sixers came out with the win.
