you
A part of me
falls
away
I relish our conversations
The wit, the wisdom, the truth
Our close friendship
Makes me
So, so happy
When we part
I wave,
Then move on
Lacking a part of myself
But
As I continue
I see
Now, spring
Is coming
The air is balmy, breeze
I see
Tender, infinitesimal
Pea-green buds
Marvels of nature
Bursting from textured, seasoned umber bark
The heavy, damp
Rich
Smell of rain
Hangs all around me
A sweet promise
to come
In chinks
between the grey, dark clouds
Far, far above
Bright, beautiful blue
Is illuminated
The cherry tree
Is blooming
Delicate, soft
Rosy Blossoms
Hang heavy from branches
Whirl through the air
Suddenly, my bag
My burden
Feels lighter
And I
Long
to fly
Leave my woes behind,
Soar, unburdened, through the deep blue
Break through the clouds
Faster than light
Soft cream whipping past
And bask in bright sky
Free to go
Anywhere
Free to choose
My own path
Free to be
Happy
I might
Return to you
But
I may fly higher
Alone
In the spring
In my
Solitary
Joy
